In this role I report to the Regulatory Affairs Director. I assist the Regulatory Affairs team with the completion of internal audits and spot checks on various organisational functions. I complete review checks on emails, telephone calls for quality assurance on regulatory compliance matters. I help with the review of changes in assigned regulatory compliance obligations and actively participate in internal discussions relating to roll out of required changes. I review and assist in the preparation of customer facing documents/contracts and policies. I attend and act as a company representative as required industry forums and workshops. I take appropriate notes at these meetings to relay information and actions back to the relevant organisational departments. I assist in the review and completion of complex complaints and correspondence with CRU on Complaints as required.

In this role I reported to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and the Management team. I was responsible for managing compliance and data protection at all levels in Drogheda Credit Union (DCU). I was responsible for implementing a positive compliance culture and ensuring adherence to the data protection framework within DCU including Risk Assessments, Risk Appetite, and Incident Reporting. This role required me to be flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change. I was responsible for ensuring that the DCU complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements. I monitored compliance to ensure that no conflict of interest arises. I provided reports on the data protection programme of the Drogheda Credit Union on a regular basis. I advised and supported the Board of Directors, CEO and staff in relation to compliance matters. It was my duty to investigate and report any compliance breaches and recommend remediation actions to ensure compliance. I was required to draft relevant policies, procedures and templates to support compliance. I arranged and delivered relevant training for DCU staff. I liaised with regulators on compliance issues e.g. Data Protection Commissioner, An Garda Siochana. It was my responsibility to ensure that the Credit Union processes personal data in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection requirements. I was the point of contact with the Data Protection Commissioner including the reporting of any data breaches. I handled data subject access requests, documented data protection impact assessments, advised on data processing agreements and security measures, prepared privacy notices and other documentation, delivered training to staff and any other related activities. In my role I also supported other risk and compliance tasks by deputising for the MLRO, where required, and completing administrative tasks to support the overall Risk and Compliance programme in the Drogheda Credit Union.

In this role I reported directly to the CFO while undertaking a range of administrative and operational tasks that contributed to the effective running of Drogheda Credit Union (DCU). This role involved carrying out transactions on members accounts, setting up EFTs, Direct Debits, SO Payments etc. I kept up to date with product information so I could relay this to members. This role required me to be professional and proficient to ensure that each member was satisfied with the service I had provided for them. I accurately and diligently handled cash; reconciled daily balances and accounted for any inconsistencies. It was vital when filling/scanning correspondence or member documentation that they were indexed correctly. It was imperative to be conscientious while carrying out these duties and ensure each document was filled out and signed correctly, whether it was concerning a transaction, a new membership application or a loan application. As a finance assistant I was required to process CT batches in an efficient manner. I also maintained up to date knowledge of all policies and procedures of the credit union.
