Client side Project Manager managing multiple healthcare projects at one time, projects ranging from £100k minor refurbishments up to £24.7 million complex capital schemes. Current schemes include multiple phased decants, temporary decants & projects with phased completion, with all works being complete whilst the existing hospital environment stays live. Proactively monitor progress on all projects to ensure they are complying to the Trust’s Values, Standing Financial Instructions, and the Trust’s current project management processes. All projects have to adhere to appropriate health & safety legislation, statutory approvals and DH mandatory standards (HTMs and HBNs). Surveying, bulk sampling and full 4 stage clearance of asbestos related materials in and around live hospital areas. During each phase of a project making sure change management, risk management and budget control are monitored until handover with no derogations unless approved from head of capital development. Liaising with all members of the Capital projects team, estates, facilities, IT, internal and external stakeholders, consultants, contractors and clinical teams; remaining professional at all situations and building strong relationships. Review/ update capital spread sheets. Check the Trusts outgoing monthly ledgers against projects invoices and cost codes. Track projects budgets through approval of a scheme through to final account settlement. Working in a challenging live hospital environment, ensuring that patients experience is not affected by any stage of a project. Past & Present schemes whilst working at Guys and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust include: new St Thomas’s A&E refurbishment, St Thomas’s LV generator upgrade, Paediatric Neurosciences, Cleft department, Guys basement reconfiguration, Level 12 Cell Therapy, Guy’s Head & Neck Pathology, Vacuum plant upgrade, HV generator scheme, St Thomas’s Chapel & pain management to name a few.

Managing a variety of grade 1 & 2 listed buildings to include The German Embassy, Kensington Palace Gardens, NHS Trust hospitals & higher education buildings, with values from £80k to £5million. Completing detailed programmes which require constant reviewing during contracts to ensure cost and timing preliminaries are met. Day to day management and supervision of sub-contractors using negotiation and interpersonal skills to process and resolve issues swiftly.
