I work under a PhD student in the Jeff Scott lab at Cornell University. Our research is primarily focused on the pathways insecticides take to terminate drosophila. These pathways are discovered by using genetically altered flies that are missing certain transport proteins necessary for insecticides to escape the gut lumen. Three different insecticides are used in this research: Acephate, Methomyl and Imidiacloprid.

I worked in the Jeff Scott lab studying drosophila, house flys, and mosquitos. We primarily studied various insecticides and their relative toxicities to these insects. We work to track the evolution of resistance to insecticides and their relation to specific genes.

I worked at two locations in the Greater St. Louis area. At Jersey Mike's Chesterfield, I became an integral worker taking on more and more responsibilities. I was soon promoted to shift manager and managed the night shift most nights. At Jersey Mike's St. Ann, I was the most veteran worker on the staff. I was an assistant manager and helped train new staff and guide the new owners to running a successful store.
