Driving utility-scale BESS projects to financial close.

I worked in a few different roles across corporate finance, treasury and commercial finance:Assistant Treasurer (equivalent role now called Treasurer - Funding)Head of Finance - VictoriaCorporate Finance Manager - M&A and developmentIn these roles I was able to play a central part in some of Australia’s largest infrastructure acquisitions and developments in various capacities (funding, valuation/modelling, writing business cases/IC papers, financial structuring, negotiating financing and transaction docs as well as managing various financial and commercial workstreams). Successful projects included: AirportLinkM7 ($2bn acquisition), WestGate Tunnel ($7bn PPP), WestConnex ($9bn acquisition), M7M12 integration ($2bn PPP), US portfolio divestment (US$2bn), Logan Enhancement Project ($0.5bn PPP)I also had the opportunity to work in a leadership capacity in Transurban's treasury team which manages the largest corporate debt book in Australia (~A$40bn) across 15 different borrowers. During this time I worked on ~A$17bn of capital raisings across debt and equity. This included DCM in Europe, US and Asia, extensive project and corporate financings in the Australian bank market, private and listed equity funding. Other treasury responsibilities included preparing the capital strategy for the TCL group and various non-recourse borrowers, rating agency engagement, hedging, distributions, debt and direct equity (super/pension funds) investor relations. I also played a key role in helping the group navigate through the funding and distribution implications of COVID and a rapid increase in interest rates. My other responsibilities included providing adhoc finance/commercial advice for contract negotiations, ASX reporting and managing, developing and recruiting finance professionals.
