Position within the UK Building Services Operating Unit

Building Services is an Operating Unit within the Skanska UK Business Unit. Building Services is a tier 1 contractor with an annual turnover of close to £400 million. It delivers complex MEP Construction Projects as well as delivering Facilities Management across a wide sector including hospitals, commercial, council and schools. Operational Efficiency is a central department within Skanska UK Building Services offering technical support across the MEP Delivery and Facilities Management sides of the business. The Technical manager role currently reports directly into the Operational Efficiency Director and provides technical support within the business, enhancing technical management and assisting in driving operational improvements through project work.In order to achieve this, close frameworks are setup with specialist consultants and Authorising Engineering companies which are managed by the Technical Manager.

Crown House is the MEP operating unit within the Laing O’Rourke construction group, which is the largest privately owned construction company in the UK. I was fortunate to gain five years experience working on prestigious, large scale biological research facilities such as The Francis Crick Institute and Project Bellatrix in Cambridge.I am experienced with Class 4, Class 3 and Class 2 Laboratory Design and Construction.Job Roles including Design Management, Procurement, Sub-Contract Management, Site Installation Works, Commissioning and Handover including Soft Landings.Throughout these roles my focus and has been technically biased, assisting with technical issues where required in conjunction with the partnering consultant team.
