I invested more than 36 years designing automatic test equipment with an emphasis in electrical engineering before retiring in 2016. In preparation for retirement, I spent a good deal of time increasing my knowledge of investing with purpose.I am currently working with my son Jason who began an investment firm (Gratus Capital, LLC) to help private investors build long-term financial resources. I have a passion for helping others achieve respectable returns with reduced volatility.

Jack joined Eagle Test Systems in 1980, an electronic test equipment design and manufacturing firm, when the company had just five employees. Over the years he served a number of design and technical management roles. He spent more than 13 years managing the design engineering department where he was responsible for digital, analog, software and mechanical design engineering. He served as Chief Technical Officer for the company when in 2006, the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange, after reaching over $120 MM in revenue. Jack remained with the company after Eagle sold to Teradyne in 2008 for a purchase price of $365 MM. Throughout his engineering career, Jack was known for his role in Systems Engineering and for technical innovation. Jack spearheaded the definition and/or the development team for various test systems (LSI-5LRE, LSI-5XP & XP/DE, ETS-500D, ETS-300, ETS-600, ETS-364, ETS-88/AC-2500, ETS-88/UHV) and Eagle's trade mark Eagle Vision software programming environment. Jack is the holder of a number of US patents relating to automatic test equipment.After retiring from Teradyne in 2016, Jack joined Gratus Capital, an investment firm started in 2008 by son Jason Weimer of Minnesota. Jack now serves as a partner in the firm focusing on real estate and private equity investments with an emphasis on providing common everyday investors access to high performing alternative investments.
