The Technology Graduate scheme is a two year programme aimed at providing graduates with a broad understanding of core areas within Technology. It is structured with four placement rotations in different roles and teams across the Technology department.Placement 1 - Technology Services. Data analyst & developer on Microsoft business insight (BI) tools (SQL Server).Placement 2 - Strategy & Architecture. Business analyst with data analysis segments. Looked across the technology portfolio to gain an understanding of currency, obsolescence and strategic technological direction. The main priority for this rotation was looking at enterprise content management (ECM) and the deployment of Microsoft's SharePoint 2013 platform, engaging with all areas of the business to work out the best approach for individual teams, departments and the company as a whole.Placement 3 - Asset Manager Integration. Working in a core team to deliver on an acquisition deal. This involved project management skills, influencing skills and stakeholder management to a high level. Working to tight deadlines in an often unpredictable working environment. Deliverables include an Access, Data, and Device Strategy, along with helping to shape a Collaboration Service for the Programme.Placement 4 - Infrastructure Project Manager for parent company Standard Life plc. Core infrastructure, premises and data project management activities. Responsibilities include coordinating project teams to deliver reliable and robust solutions to on-budget and on-time projects, often working in conjunction with 3rd party providers. Current projects include upgrading Citrix/VDI infrastructure and opening global offices for the Standard Life Investments business.
