I focus my legal practice in the areas of complex business and commercial litigation, employment litigation, insurance defense, and the full range of civil matters in an active trial and appellate practice. I am experienced in handling cases in the North Carolina Business Court and in Federal Court, as well as the State Trial and Appellate Courts. I have pursued and defended numerous cases to a successful verdict before juries in the State and Federal Courts, and preserved those verdicts on appeal. I also serve as a mediator and arbitrator and represents clients in licensing or administrative disputes with state boards and agencies.I frequently counsel clients in business disputes, insurance coverage and claims disputes, trust and estate disputes, and construction disputes. I regularly prosecutes and defends commercial litigation, unfair and deceptive practice cases, professional and product liability cases, fire cause and origin cases, employment and workers’ compensation cases and cases involving serious personal injuries.I have lectured in the areas of employment and workers’ compensation law, liability insurance coverage, premises liability and trial tactics. I have handled nearly every type of business dispute that may arise between companies, their owners, their clients, their customers and their competitors.
