ROLA, the Re-Org Ladies Agency, was founded by three women in blockchain and offered advising services to projects across industries such as education, events (including a live NFT art auction), and creators utilizing Web3 tools. ROLA built and fostered a community of 30+ high-performing females in web3 with a Wyoming LLC and DAO ambitions. The community used the Volley app, which was de-platformed and had no real social equivalent. As web3 nosedived into a bear market mid-2022, the LLC was dissolved. While only lasting 5 months, all three founders gained incredible access and insight to developing metaverse projects, talented professionals, and positive media mentions and network connections in emerging tech spaces.

Focused on non-traditional revenue streams that would support core newspaper reporting. A fascinating newspaper.com archiving partnership introduced me to the possibilities of historical SEO with the power of mass communications. I developed a novel 3-prong attention engagement model that capitalized long-form reporting by utilizing multiple media for reaching a diverse Buffalo community with the specific reporting that applied to their lives. The American Press Institute states "The purpose of journalism is to provide citizens with the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their lives, their communities, their societies, and their governments." I worked to align all projects with this purpose.

Worked with our Canadian paper vendors and onsite/offsite warehouse in ordering, scheduling transport, and remedying issues for ~$650,000/mo. of newsprint for daily production and five specialty papers for commercial products. Navigated the most serious newsprint shortage in North American history from October 2018 - May 2019. Director of Production role from February 2018 to July 2018.

Learned all the ins-and-outs of putting plates to press, firing up cylinders, and exercising fluid teamwork throughout a 4-story press.Administrative duties: payroll, press scheduling, production reports, interdepartmental communication. Supervised press crew of 4-6 pressmen, diagnose/fix any imperfections and making any necessary calls to stay on schedule. Coordinated with commercial print customers regarding file submission and press scheduling. Point-person manning and contractual issues. Effective communicator to upper management and to foremen, pressmen, and other departments (accounting, prepress, mailroom, transportation) when any departmental information is needed. Direct reports included: 5 foremen and 40 pressmen.

Worked closely with the VP on production aspects for an emerging commercial print shop. Included selecting machinery and programs that would support tech/production operations and grow business. Self-taught numerous programs, and worked with IT/IS vendors in implementing networking infrastructure in order to train prepress technicians. Created training guides for sales reps, production workers, and customers. Responsible for implementing a web-to-print solution for corporate customers, such as Tim Hortons and Cellino & Barnes. Created and enforced numerous workflow guides that were used across multiple departments (sales, prepress, press, finishing). Supervised all commercial prepress work.

Prepared digital files for offset printing. This included graphics applications (adobe suite) in the creation of ad files, but more interestingly, involved all of the technical aspects of turning an "invisible" digital file into a tangible printed newspaper. This position played a huge role in shaping how I see reality! Deconstructing flat images into layers revealing each individual component, run through numerous technical processes and eventually reassembled for 3-dimensional output.
