Oversee Central Florida's Continuum of Care's homeless response system, providing insight and operational direction on system design and improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and equity outcomes in the implementation of a $25+ million budget composed of local, state, and federal grants to address homelessness. I guide the 15+ person System Operations team, providing direct-supervision to 6 team leads.

Recipient of two-year fellowship to provide legal training, technical assistance, and legal representation to homeless women and children sheltered at Lotus House, a Miami shelter serving approximately 500 guests a night, to obtain housing stability, self-sufficiency, and self-determination. As part of the fellowship, I am developing a collaborative model in which shelter staff maximize limited legal assistance to more effectively and efficiently address the vast legal needs of large numbers of sheltered individuals experiencing homelessness. Representation and advice has been given in the following areas: public benefits, naturalization, eviction defense, public housing eligibility, identification issues, suspended driver licenses, consumer issues, tax, domestic violence related issues, and family law.

Recipient of David A. Grossman Fellowship through Harvard Law School to provide legal services to guests and prior guests of Lotus House. Provided the full range of legal services to clients ranging from providing legal advice to full representation in a variety of civil cases, including the following areas: public benefits, consumer law, family law, immigration, and eviction defense.

Two year clinical placement where I represented tenants facing eviction in Boston Housing Court and provided foreclosure defense in Flynn Housing Court. As a student attorney, I drafted critical court pleadings including Pre-Trial Memos, Answers and Request for Discovery, Motionsfor Summary Judgment and Reasonable Accommodation Requests. As co-chair of the Community Lawyering Task Force I attended and helped coordinate student attorneys’ weekly attendance at City Life Vida Urbana meetings and other community-sponsored housing justice events. I additionally participated in strategy meetings with community organizers and other area housing justice advocates. In my role as Outreach Director I oversaw the hiring of approximately 16 law school students from across the nation to serve as summer counsel for the Bureau. I built, strengthened and facilitated the Bureau’s relationships and partnerships with greater Boston community members and community agencies. I additionally conducted internal assessment to gauge Bureau members’ interest in continuing and maintaining different community partnerships and used those results to implement changes to better support Bureau members in partnership participation and to better meet the needs of the Bureau’s community partners.
