Jackie West began her career in the merchandising division of the Sperry Rand Corporation, from there worked for a gold and silverware company (marketing to prestigious retail outlets).At the end of the 70’s a sales and marketing position, with a market-leading medical equipment company, enabled Jackie to expand her horizons, marketing products to a world-wide audience (medical professionals in hospitals, medical centres and industrial occupational health departments), this included travelling extensively overseas.By the end of the 80’s she had joined a Japanese corporation in the fluid power sector. During this time she built relationships with many editors in the engineering and manufacturing field, worked closely with schools and other educational establishments/bodies to promote engineering to young people, and was an active member of the British Fluid Power Association publicity committee.In 2004 Jackie was made redundant, and decided to move north to the Highlands of Scotland, to and work from home. Initially free-lancing, working for Pro-Talk/Centaur Publishing and various other clients around the UK, and now on a full-time basis with Chris Rand and the team at Business Marketing Online Ltd (BMON).Jackie is a member of the Board for the IOSF (the International Otter Survival Fund, based on Skye) - this voluntary position involves assisting and advising on PR and marketing activities. Living on the edge of a remote village in Wester Ross, surrounded by mountains - Jackie tends to get a little distracted by the wildlife passing her office window.
