As the AmeriCorps Coordinator for the Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps team, I am responsible for managing the AmeriCorps grant. I hire, train, and support 45 AmeriCorps members each year that tutor students in math, reading, and AVID at 33 sites across the district. I am responsible for ensuring that our members meet the goals and objectives of our grant. We collectively serve 5,525 students each year.

As the AmeriCorps AVID Supervisor for the Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps team, I am responsible for the training and support of 40 AmeriCorps members that serve around 1200 students in the Federal Way Public Schools. Under the leadership of our Director, I work to build collaborative relationships with 50 teachers in 11 schools in our district.

Federal Way

As an AmeriCorps member in the Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps Program, I served in the AVID program and I facilitated Formal Tutorials to middle school students. As a Team Leader, I co-facilitated a Civic Engagement program in order to develop a community service project. I also developed service learning programs for middle and high school students.

Todd Beamer High School

As a Social Studies Teacher, I taught upper-level social studies courses (AP Government, Current World Problems, and World History) by utilizing a student-centered approach that focused on real world application of learning.

Kilo Middle School

As a Social Studies Teacher at Kilo Middle School, I taught 8th grade U.S. History. I also developed a service-learning class for a multi-age class that included 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.

Federal Way, Wa

As an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, I served at an elementary school and I worked to develop a reading program that utilized community volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and cross-age tutors to increase the reading levels of 100+ K-5 students.

I completed iPEC's rigorous coach training program. This program covered Executive Coaching, Relationship Coaching, Transition Coaching.
