CurrentAs the Director of Financial Operations, I lead the daily finance, accounting, and treasury functions for CEI Capital Management LLC, CEI-Boulos Capital Management LLC, and their managed affiliates. My responsibilities include overseeing loan and investment servicing, financial reporting, and compliance across New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) entities, Opportunity Zone (OZ) funds, and real estate investments.I focus on ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial operations, managing budgeting and forecasting, and optimizing treasury functions. This involves monitoring liquidity, evaluating cash flow, and maximizing returns on deposits through strategic cash placements and short-term investments, all while mitigating financial risks. Ensuring financial compliance is a key part of my role, whether through audits, tax returns, adherence to GAAP, or compliance with NMTC and OZ regulations. I take pride in managing complex tasks like member profit/loss allocations and distribution waterfalls, ensuring that every detail is handled with precision.I actively contribute to the NMTC application process by gathering and analyzing financial data, conducting critical financial calculations, and contributing to the review of application narratives. I collaborate with investment and asset management teams to review project outcomes, support risk management and the underwriting processes. Additionally, I oversee the onboarding of new investments into financial operations, developing processes that serve the needs of our internal teams, projects, and investors.Continuous improvement drives my work—whether through refining internal controls or increasing efficiency and accuracy across operations. I work closely with senior management to align financial strategies with organizational goals, and I provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of professional development and continuous learning.
