A senior museum professional with twenty years of experience, I have specialised in building and transforming teams to achieve better outcomes. From diverse volunteers in one of the most deprived parts of London to a multidisciplinary professional team in a national museum, I’ve coached people to develop their skills and deliver highly original projects. A strategic thinker and networker, I have been at the forefront of innovative approaches to managing and using museum collections, establishing clear long term visions based around learning, efficiency and sustainability. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills mean that I am always in high demand to lead partnerships and support colleagues in achieving funding. I'm also on the board of Manchester Craft and Design Centre, and currently the interim co-chair. Always hungry to learn, I seek out new challenges to develop people and organisations to better serve their audiences and other stakeholders. I'm gay and use hearing and play a part in making the organisations I am involved with open for all.
