One of only two students in the school of psychology in receipt of an award and bursary to conduct independent research in our second undergraduate year. My project aimed to investigate the nature of the relationship between internally-generated distractors and the ways in which they affect our behaviour on the external world. Over the Summer of 2017 I designed, programmed, implemented, and investigated resultant data from a novel experimental procedure. This research also continued into my third-year of study, where I re-programmed and co-ordinated an extension of this work on a population of over 200 participants, whilst also maintaining my regular academic commitments.
