I am an undergraduate student studying Human Resource Management at the Marriot School of Business at BYU. I have interned and worked as a consultant for multiple companies. From my internships, I have gained experience in employee retention, policy development, and compensation and benefits. When I tell people that I am studying HR, I often get funny looks or questions about why I want to be the “company police.” I love to help people understand that there is so much more to Human Resources than just employee compliance. I am looking for opportunities in human resources. I am interested in a Strategic HR role, where HR associates act as business partners allied with the business. In many organizations, people are the principal resource, and therefore, businesses cannot be successful without these individuals. I want to be a Human Resource Associate that helps employees to feel fulfilled in their job roles. Many people hate their jobs or feel that they are stuck in a dead-end job. Human resource business partners have the potential to help companies use people more effectively through implementations like succession planning and training and development programs. I am a well-prepared future employee. Having attended the Marriott School of Business at BYU, a top-ranked Business School, I have taken a great deal of relevant course work in the field of Human Resources. My course work includes Change Management, Leadership Development, Compensation and Benefits, Organization Effectiveness/Behavior, and more. My goal is to work in a variety of HR roles and gain experience before earning a Master's of Organizational Behavior/ Development.I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and camping with my family. I was a professional clogger for several years and had the opportunity to travel and meet new people.
