Jack O'Neill Work Experience Details
  • Irish Defence Forces
    Military Instructor
Irish Defence Forces Nov 2012 - Present
    Dublin City, County Dublin, Ireland
Over a decade experience in the Army (Irish Defence Forces). Through the years I've earned my way to a conduct rating being the highest grade you can obtain, of "Outstanding". I am an Non Commissioned Officer (NCO), at the rank of Corporal (with the Sergeant course done). Meaning; I am in-charge of leading, instructing and managing Equipment and Troops.Working Overseas: I have three Peace Keeping Missions aboard in the Middle East with the United Nations. Two to Lebanon and one to Syria (which you can read in more detail below). Six months at a time each. Working with other Cultures, Nationalities, Backgrounds helping me become a People Person who had to be Patient and Understanding, while working from large groups of 100+ to small teams of 4 Managing, Decision making, Communicating and Reporting up a Chain of Command.
  • United Nations
    Lead Crewman Commander - Undof
    United Nations Apr 2021 - Oct 2021
    Syria
-Third trip to Syria in 2021, with the Cavalry Quick Reaction Force. Same rolls as before but up a rank and more responsibility and taskings; I was Car/ Patrol Commander meaning, I was in charge of Reporting, Communications, Safety and Security while Leading and Navigating full day long patrols as far as to the Jordan border with over 20 vehicles at times, spaced out in convoy consisting of different nationalities, soilders and civilians. Time Management became a big role while managing large numbers and making sure everyone’s job was done simultaneously, while reporting back to base and concurrently looking after my own responsibilities in an ever changing environment.
  • United Nations
Reconnaissance Armoured Personal Carrier Crewman - Unfil
    United Nations Nov 2018 - May 2019
    Lebanon
-My second trip Aboard to Lebanon in 2019. I was with the Cavalry Quick Response Team in the Reconnaissance unit. Constantly at a high state of readiness; on call ready to respond to any type of emergency in our Area of Responsibilities, within a 15 minute window. Day or Night. We were in charge of manning and crewing our 8x8 wheeled heavy armoured vehicles which we patrolled South Lebanon, along the Blue Line (Lebanon - Israeli border). Everything from manning Communications, Weapon Systems, Maintenance and General Duties was kept to a high standard. We maintained and serviced this vehicles ourselves. Worked to may high pressure call outs in intense situations which time management was key.
  • United Nations
    Logistics/ Stores Management - Unfil
    United Nations May 2017 - Nov 2017
    Lebanon
-My first Overseas Mission Aboard was to Lebanon in 2017. I had the role of Logistics. Helping manage the inner workings of the camp and outside operations run smoothly, which requires a lot of organisation managing and attention to detail on my part as I dealt with everything from troops to equipment, transport and payrolls.
