My name is Jackson Block. I'm a 22 year old former high school All-American, 3-star recruit and D1 football player, but due to reoccurring shoulder injuries/surgeries, I decided to hang up my cleats. My new aspiration is to be an NFL scout. In May of 2019, I was hired as a recruiting assistant/intern in the football office at the University of Colorado. And as of April of 2019, I was working as a regional scout for Blue-Grey Football and the Blue-Grey All-American game played on ESPN (Patrick Mahomes played in this, among many other current NFL players as well as myself). I also am a writer and analyst for Matt Waldman at the Rookie Scouting Portfolio (mattwaldmanrsp.com) and evaluate college and NFL talent. I believe I am a very hard worker and very motivated and driven. Due to adversities I've faced in my life such as my older brother passing away my junior year of high and my mom passing away (my freshman year of college) after her long battle with stage 4 breast cancer, I know that this world isn't perfect and that times can get very dark and ominous. But, through hard work, humility, a positive attitude and a solid foundation of faith, you can persevere to success. I'm a good leader, have great people skills, I'm a quick learner and I'll outwork anyone in the room to succeed. I also am absolutely obsessed with the game of football. I eat, sleep, and breath the game. Ever since I was a little kid, I was always a student of the game and had a high football IQ. My dad was a college All-American and the love of the game was instilled in me before I could walk. When it comes to watching games and tape, I am an absolute film junkie. When I was player I'd put in 2 hours a night worths of film study over course of the week before a game. Some people like to read, cook, etc. my hobby is watching tape and just a lot football whether it be new games or old. I am currently watching 3 hours of tape on college prospects and NFL players a day. Outside of football I am very family orientated and love spending time with all of the people who've been here for me through thick and thin.
