As Commanding Officer of USCGC STINGRAY (WPB 87305), I am ultimately responsible for the administration, safe operation, mission planning, navigation, logistics, and maintenance of the 87-foot Marine Protector-Class cutter along with leading a crew a crew of 11 members, including 2 chief petty officers, 5 petty officers, and 3 junior enlisted personnel. Our operations encompassed a wide range of mission, including Search and Rescue (SAR), Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE), Marine Environmental Protection & Enforcement of Living Marine Resources regulations (LMR), and Ports, Waterways, and Coastal Security operations (PWCS). Central to my role is ensuring the operational readiness of both personnel and equipment. Additionally, I oversee the logistics and maintenance activities that are critical for sustaining the cutter's operational capability. This involves managing supply chains, overseeing equipment upkeep and repair, and optimizing resource allocation to meet mission requirements. In terms of financial management, I was directly accountable for overseeing $5 million in property assets and a unit budget of $65,000.

As Deck Department Head/First Lieutenant (1LT), I led a department of one E7, 3 E4-E6, and over 14 E3/E2 personnel. Was responsible for training for and execution of all smallboat operations and flight operations onboard the ship. I was responsible for overseeing the maintenance of topside equipment, rescue & surivival gear, and two smallboats on a major cutter. In this role, I served on the Navigation & Seamanship Training Team as well as the Aviation Training Team where I authored, organized, executed, and debriefed ship-wide training excersies. With an Underway & In-port Officer Of the Deck (OOD) qualification, I was responsible for overseeing the daily operations and navigation of a 210' major cutter, ensuring the safety of a crew of over 75 members both underway and in port. Directly reported to the Commanding Officer and effectively managed critical shipboard functions. Additional duties peformed while fufilling the position for First Lieutenant include: Boarding Team Member, Public Affairs Officer, Landing Signals Officer, Nightvision Safety Observer, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Representative, and Wardroom Mess Treasurer.

Managed all aspects of supply and logistics operations, including dynamic downrange operational support, large unit galley management, ship-wide procurement, medical logistics, the cooridation of international port visits, and unit administration. Additionally, having achieved my Underway & In-port Officer Of the Deck (OOD) qualifications, I was responsible for overseeing the daily operations and navigation of a 210' major cutter, ensuring the safety of a crew of over 75 members both underway and in port. I directly reported to the Commanding Officer and effectively managed critical shipboard functions.
