I currently serve as the Chief Business Officer for the City of Georgetown’s Electric Utility. In this role, I support the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of electricity to our community. I oversee the Customer Energy Solutions and Business Operations teams and work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership. My focus is on aligning our efforts with the utility’s goals, preparing for growth, and addressing the needs of the community. I’m grateful to continue working with such a dedicated team in Georgetown.

In this role, I oversee the City’s animal services, code compliance, emergency management, and environmental services departments, encompassing more than 20 employees and a $13.4 million annual operating budget, including the City’s solid waste contract. During my tenure, we successfully handled emergency management of the COVID-19 pandemic, winter storms Uri and Landon, and Hurricane Laura in collaboration with Williamson County and the Williamson County and Cities Health District.My focus has been to foster a culture of continuous improvement, including managing the update of the City’s Hazard Mitigation Plan with TDEM and FEMA approval, addressing multiple high-priority property maintenance crises with public and private partners, overseeing the implementation of new case management software for the code compliance department, and assisting with creating and improving partnerships to provide low cost spay and neuter programs for the animal shelter.

In this position, I supervised the City’s Communication and Public Engagement Department, including external, internal, and Mayoral communications, and conducted the City’s first communication assessment and execution of first year strategies. Some of the relevant initiatives included coordination of updates to City Council goals, hosting for the annual Real Estate Agent workshop, production of the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), and other highly visible projects. I acted as Media and City Manager’s Office liaison during crisis and emergency communications, as well as special event and ad-hoc committees, including the Red Poppy Festival Committee, Special Events Committee, biennial employee survey team, and communications team.

I identified ways to support the City Manager and Assistant City Manager through key partnerships, budget coordination, project management, and public engagement, while collaborating on programming, reporting, budgeting, and administration for the Main Street Program, Historic Preservation, Facilities Planning, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. 2015 Employee of the Year, 2014 Divisional Employee of the Year.
