My project, "Deciphering the Impact of Contribution Patterns on Open-Source Software: Quality and Security" aimed to develop a nuanced understanding of how contribution patterns influence the quality and safety of OSS.💻 Role and ContributionsIn a world increasingly reliant on OSS, the need for robust security measures has never been more pronounced. My role in this project was multifaceted – I designed innovative software tools to delve into the vast ocean of OSS repositories. Through meticulous research, I evaluated the most current scoring systems, extracting and analysing extensive datasets. This process was foundational in crafting a new scoring system that hinges on contribution metrics to gauge the security posture of OSS.The culmination of this research was the development of a scoring system that offers a fresh perspective on OSS quality and security, backed by an analysis of over 20,000 repositories and 100+ million individual commit data points.🏆 Best Presentation AwardPresenting these findings was not only a moment of professional pride but also an opportunity to contribute to the broader conversation about OSS security.
