Animal management undergraduate research assistant at the Baric Epidemiology lab at UNC-Chapel Hill, where I support the lab in preparing, organizing, and working with lab materials and animal subjects. The Baric Lab conducts virology research for coronavirus, norovirus, and Zika virus, and I safely work to properly handle and dispose of biohazardous material, properly handle and directly work with mice for research purposes, prepare solutions for injection and testing, and ensure the proper functioning of the lab.

The UNC chapter of Kesem hosts a week-long summer camp for kids whose parents have been affected by cancer, and provides a safe, fun space for kids to be themselves for a week at camp! The camp is completely free to the kids through year-long donations and fundraising events including blood drives, giving Tuesday fundraising, benefit nights, make the magic dinner/fundraiser, and a host of other fundraising events throughout the school year.

Reviewing over 80 individual clinical trials, I gained insight into various medical conditions, treatment plans, clinical trial structures, and the correlation of various procedures to patient burden. I then presented my findings and suggestions to a board of doctors, medical professionals, and researchers to improve patient experience in future clinical trials.
