Long ago lived a boy, landlocked in Colorado with the dream of becoming a marine biologist. Little did he know that this dream and passion would evolve into something more. He found his niche as a biologist with a goal for his career – making sure his position means something, that his career impacts the world and most of all, that he lives and enjoys life, not letting it pass quietly by. I thrive in positions aimed at helping people help the world. I want to learn, to educate, and to do what I can to embolden conservation efforts, encourage invasive species management, and to support environmental research.What I learned so long ago is that a spark that is fanned and encouraged to grow will ignite. Now I am nurturing my flame and using my skills to join the efforts that are out there. For me, the skills I gain, the jobs I hold and the titles I earn are meant to help me in a career to make a difference no matter how small it may be. What I want is to be happy. What I need is to matter.
