Identified software requirements for Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) users and translated them into development tickets for software engineers.Facilitated communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders during the creation of a new LIMS to support Freenome’s genomics and proteomics assays.Authored & executed software test protocols to validate LIMS software for use in processing samples from over 27,000 patients through the laboratory as part of Freenome’s PREEMPT CRC clinical study.Performed integration testing between Freenome’s LIMS system and custom laboratory automation hardware to ensure all user requirements for sample processing were met, while triaging and escalating identified software bugs to engineering teams.Trained laboratory staff to use custom LIMS system functionality in advance of clinical study execution.

Responsible for ensuring the successful processing of samples which have failed or become stuck in the lab or bioinformatics pipeline for any reason. To support this objective, I developed automation using Python and shell scripts, Jupyter notebooks, cron jobs, and custom command line tools for interfacing with our LIMS system. I also regularly communicated technical findings to non-technical teammates, provided stakeholder input for new product launches, and developed new workflows and SOPs to handle the ever-evolving needs of Invitae's business.
