I am a double major in Business Administration (concentration in Economics) and Leadership at the University of Richmond. In both the Robins School of Business and Jepson School of Leadership, I have learned so much in terms of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and the world around me. However, I believe my greatest assets come from my strong motivations outside the classroom. In high school, I founded a non-profit called One Night Out in which I recruited fellow students to provide respite care for kids with disabilities, giving their parents a much needed rest. While I was filing for official non-profit status with a 501(c)3 form, I was also training for and running the Providence Marathon and applying to colleges. In the summers, I worked as a camp counselor and learned that patience and leading by example can have a profound effect on a person's life. When I got to Richmond, I immediately got involved by volunteering at Youth Life to mentor underprivileged elementary school students in their academics. I now serve as an elected Senator on Richmond College Student Government so that I can further effect positive change in the community while learning how to navigate bureaucracy. Through these combined but varied experiences, I am proud to have learned how to identify a need and add value through action. I am confident that my experiences will translate nicely into any job or internship opportunity that presents itself.
