While working as a Records Analyst, I supported the work of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Records, Privacy, and Declassification Division (RPDD). I did this by locating material in response to Freedom of Intelligence Act inquiries, Congressional requests, and other governmental requests. I also assisted with eDiscovery and Records Research support for RPDD.

As a fellow for PCI, I provided support for the Federal Government Relations (FGR) team. I was able to analyze and evaluate federal legislation, and then formulate recommendations for the FGR team. I continuously tracked and reviewed federal legislation, while also attending, reviewing, and summarizing congressional hearings. I additionally provided support for engaging with members of Congress.

KRC Research is a global public opinion research consultancy group. It is a member of the Interpublic Group of companies. They use research and analytics to help clients make strategic decisions. As a research assistant, I analyzed data using both quantitative and qualitative methodology. I used this data to generate reports and PowerPoints that were used in meetings with clients. I sat in on In-Depth Interviews, where directors spoke with strategically selected people to get perspectives on clients’ ideas and solutions. I created extensive notes on these interviews and released them to the team to be discussed in client meetings. Additionally, I created and conducted surveys to contribute to specific market research goals. I am also familiarized with the Qualtrics System. I participated in a company wide competition titled Win Week. The goal of this competition was to create a strategic plan to help a company achieve a specific goal. I was in charge of creating the research strategies used in the plan. My team and I won this competition and will have our ideas executed in real time with the company.

As a video analyst intern, I used the TrackMan system to record all games and practices for the University of Virginia Baseball Team. After recording all of the events, I would analyze the trends in plays/calls for strategic use in future games. I used team film as a means for effective communication between players and coaches during strategy planning, and made analytic decisions based on critical thinking and reasoning.The University of Virginia Baseball Team won the 2015 College World Series for the first time in the University’s history. Part of this accomplishment was due to the great partnership between video analytics, my strategic input based on the analytics, and the implementation of these analytics by the coaches.

Being supervisor at Memorial Gym required me to familiarize employees on policies and procedures. I was responsible for supervising teams of three employees at a time and ensuring all proper procedures were followed. I oversaw daily monetary transactions and calculated daily profit. I would monitor special events including tournaments, fundraisers, and conferences.

Out of several applicants, I was one of four interns selected to work with Dr. Potter on the Minerva Research Initiative. This initiative was founded by former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to gain a better understanding of the social and cultural dynamics that shape specific regions of interest around the world. The initiative is funded by the Department of Defense.As a research assistant, I contributed information on relationships between non-state violent actors (NSVOs) to the Minerva Research Summaries. I was responsible for detecting all known relationships between NSVOs including geographic, monetary, religious, and cultural relationships. I evaluated these relationships and ranked them in terms of strength. Working on this initiative familiarized me with the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) System.
