Worked intensively with local school districts, city and state departments of education, and other state- and region- wide community-based organizations to expand the reach of RIF’s programs. This effort resulted in the the appropriation of approximately $2 million in additional funding, providing approximately 350,000 new children with three books apiece. Traveled extensively to conduct this outreach, as well as program trainings and other presentations as necessary. Researched and wrote model reports to illustrate effective operation for existing and potential RIF programs.

Participated in an intensive 10-month national service program, performing a variety of services in the areas of education, environment, unmet human needs, public safety, and disaster relief. I credit my AmeriCorps experience with catapulting me into a lifetime of personal and professional civic mindedness.
