I will be an economics graduate with a plan to go into law school. From attending a law focused classes in high school and interning at the Fort Bend District Attorneys office I have gained knowledge of the court process and the activities leading up to it. I plan on joining the mock trial team of the Future Lawyers of Today organization to further my knowledge and skills in criminal proceedings. I also intend to shadow a lawyer to obtain an even greater understanding of the process leading up to court trials. I went to Miller Career and Technology Center for a law focus and in this class we did mock trials where started to understand the process of a criminal trial. Also apart of MCTC was an internship program where I followed criminal prosecutors learning from them in court trials. I was assigned to listen in to jail calls and organize information of all that was said in order to look for anything incriminating. What I gained from these experiences was a very good starting point into the world of law with room to grow and learn more.With the skills I've gained and the opportunities I intend to pursue, my plan for the future would be to join either a corporate, criminal or contract law firm in the future. In these jobs I would conduct legal research, organize information, and draft documents. As well as search documents to obtain legal information for cases.
