I diligently roomed patients, preparing them for the doctor to visit by obtaining their vitals and running Urinalyses and PVRs as necessary. I also completed prior authorizations for prescriptions on CoverMyMeds and am proficient in the use of Epic and Modernizing Medicine electronic medical record systems.

Research Advisor: Bassil El-Zaatari, PhD.I successfully synthesized derivatives of Usnic Acid containing thiol, alkene, azide, and alkyne functional groups. Those derivatives were then chemically cross-linked into polymer networks via photoinitiated thiol-ene click reactions and azide-alkyne cycloadditions to create plastics with antimicrobial properties. I presented my research at the Verna-Miller Case Symposium and successfully defended an Honor’s Thesis titled: Toward Developing Usnic Acid Cross-linked Antimicrobial Polymers. Post-graduation, I mentored a RISE student and presented my work at the 2023 Southeastern Regional Meeting hosted by the North Carolina Section of the ACS.

Outdoor Odyssey is a rigorous experience for incoming freshmen at Davidson College that allows them to bond with their peers over a week-long adventure. Paired with another trip leader, I led four sessions of Outdoor Odyssey, teaching my crews how to backpack, camp in the outdoors, and whitewater canoe. By the end of each session, my crews not only developed technical skills for the outdoors such as tying knots and waterproofing tents but also skills for them to take into their undergraduate experiences such as effective communication and leadership.

I diligently conducted office hours and met with CHE 115 students upon their requests, providing comprehensive explanations in person and via email to bolster their foundational chemistry skills. Additionally, I proactively communicated noteworthy gaps in students' knowledge to the professors and worked collaboratively with them to address these issues during class sessions, thereby augmenting the students' comprehension of the subject matter.
