People say I'm good at making things happen.I founded and lead BLOOM.SPACE, the Bloom Incubator and Bloom Accelerate where we provide cost-effective coworking, business incubation and acceleration to small companies. Our Malvern campus is in a Grade II listed manor house in the heart of Great Malvern and the Rugby office is a modern open-plan space right on the main shopping street in the centre of town. We're linking rural and regional businesses with the London startup and investment ecosystem, as well as providing a location with some much-needed fresh air and countryside to frazzled founders! We’ve incubated some pretty successful startups since opening in 2016 and provide them with as much mentoring, coaching, advice, training and support as they need along their business journey. Key to most startup success is access to funding (investment) and talent, both of which we will help with, along with the mentoring and other support.Having been very fortunate to travel extensively across Europe, into Africa and Asia working on a range of startup programmes over the last 13 years, I decided to set up BLOOM.SPACE and draw together the most effective elements of what I've seen, my personal network and to provide a space for small businesses to bloom.I’m also the UK Director for the Japanese accelerator company “Leave a Nest” where we invest small seed funds in deep tech companies, link investors and big corporations to startups, and forge links between Japan’s advanced engineering and manufacturing resources and UK companies. In addition, I manage UCL's kids' entrepreneurship education programme, Citrus Saturday, growing it from a London pilot and establishing it in 16 countries across Europe and Africa. Citrus Saturday has taught 1000’s of kids new entrepreneurship and innovation skills, involving 100’s of volunteers since 2012. Most recently we launched in Burkina Faso - one of the world's poorest countries and have won awards in Camden and Madrid for work with inner-city kids.

Citrus Saturday ManagerCitrus Saturday, University College London Aug 2012 - PresentLondon, United KingdomCitrus Saturday is an kids education programme created by experienced entrepreneurs and educators from UCL, providing young people around the world the chance to experience the thrill of running their own business for a day, working hard, planning and earning money. Our Toolkit brings some of UCL's enterprise skills training to a younger age group covering topics like "What is an entrepreneur?” and “What is a business?”. The kids set financial goals, look at how to form a team, then consider their product, manufacturing, choose a location to sell from, plan a marketing strategy, make a financial plan and practice running their stall. The culmination of the activity is setting up a Citrus Saturday drinks stall when the young people sell to real customers. They work hard to plan their business, make a product they are proud of and sell it to the public, then just like any enterprise they use their profits to pay their team members. This cements in their minds the link between planning, working hard and earning money. Our Citrus Saturday Toolkit provides everything needed for planning the activity, running the workshops, the Citrus Saturday drinks stall and then do the evaluation. The Toolkit has been used to teach thousands of young people (mainly aged 11 to 16) enterprise skills in at least 13 different countries across Europe and Africa in around 100 schools and youth clubs, involving over 500 volunteers. The biggest single Citrus Saturday activity saw UCL run a large-scale event in central London, involving 150 young people running 28 lemonade stands across the capital, supported by 100 UCL student volunteers!Citrus Saturday started with a pilot in Camden in 2011. My role has been to turn this localised activity into a global programme; I created the Citrus Saturday Toolkit to achieve this and manage all of the Citrus Saturday activities for UCL. -
