I support small businesses by designing systems for their book keeping and accounting functions as well as actually completing the book keeping, payroll and Tax Returns as required.I have suggested and implemented basic spreadsheets for a couple of Mary Kaye party plan consultants to detailed stockholding documents for several consultants working for a bag and shoe business who all require access to shared documents from various locations. By using me to complete their Self Assessment Tax Return some of these tiny business owners have alleviated an amazing amount of stress and pressure. They may not even have a tax bill to settle but the stress of understanding and completing an online tax return is too much for some owners. I set up simple systems that work for their business and enable them to keep their records up to date which at year end makes producing their Profit and Loss a painless task.By producing a projected cash flow for a bag and shoe party plan business I was able to illustrate to the owner when there would be sufficient funds to purchase enough stock to enable a further consultant to be taken on board. This forward planning ensured an important decision was made at the right time for that business.

Being The Office and Finance Manager this was an extremely varied role covering many aspects of running a small busy office. • I am responsible for running the Administration and Finance department and assisting with quality issues for ISO9001:2008. • Monthly Payroll and all year end processes - P11D's, P35,CIS tax• Producing monthly management accounts, including assisting with stock takes• Supervising the admin assistant.• Running team and attending management meetings.• Full responsibility for paying suppliers, including purchasing American Dollars• Bank reconciliations, debt collecting and all other supporting accounting functions.

I was employed two days a week on a fixed term contract assisting with Book keeping and payroll support both in house and at customer's premises covering for maternity leave.

I worked alongside the Financial Director from 1995 to 2003, during which time the company grew from 6 employees to 45. All of my duties were performed on Sage and this varied from entering supplier invoices, to debt collecting and paying suppliers. In the Financial Directors absence I completed the monthly payroll and at the companies year end worked together with her to produce the accounts, roll year ends and liase with their accountants.
