Conducted psychological evaluations of public safety candidates and personnel on behalf of state and federal departments to determine their suitability to be hired to safety and security sensitive positions. Resulting reports were written in a 24-hour timeframe as cohesive narratives that outlined risks and identified mitigating factors. Provided onsite risk-assessment to reality TV productions and remote coping skill psychoeducation to reality TV contestants post-production. Shadowed and received training on conducting fitness for duty evaluations for public safety personnel and pre-employment evaluations for prospective reality-TV show contestants.

Independently taught Sports Psychology PSY 301 of approximately 30 undergraduate students using an entirely online format. Instructed students on the relationship between psychology and sport from the perspective of theory, research, and practice. Designed syllabus, lectured on topics including personality, cognition, motivation-emotion, and the social process of sport, hosted weekly office hours. Proctored exams, facilitated and monitored blackboard discussion forum, graded tests, quizzes, and essays and supervised an undergraduate student’s honors contract proposal and presentation.

Taught the practical portion of the advanced adult assessment course, PSY 657 (LAB) for clinical psychology doctoral first year students. Instructed first year doctoral students on the proper administration, scoring, and interpretation of various psychodiagnostic instruments including WAIS-IV, WIAT-IV, Woodcock-Johnson IV Cognitive and Achievement, WMS-IV, Stanford-Binet 5.

Conducted individual therapy and integrative assessments in a large private practice setting under the supervision of licensed psychologist, Dr. Nathalie Menendes. Administered psychological assessments to child, adolescent, and adult clients seeking services for concerns including ASD screenings, ADHD and Learning Disorder evaluations, general diagnostic interviews, and bariatric and pain stimulator assessments.

Independently facilitated manualized group-based advanced substance abuse treatment at minimum-security facilities (Central Michigan Correctional Facility) and maximum-security facilities (St. Louis Correctional Facility & Saginaw Correctional Facility) utilizing cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based treatment approaches.

Conducted individual therapy and psychodiagnostic assessments with CMU students and members of the local community under the supervision of licensed psychologists, Dr. Nathan Weed and Dr. Melissa Tuttle within the context of CMU’s Psychology Training and Consultation Center (PTCC). Used empirically supported treatment strategies from learning theory and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to address symptoms of depression, general anxiety, ADHD, and panic. Instructed students on major theories and principles related to personality. Lectured biweekly and hosted weekly office hours. Graded tests, quizzes, and essays, and blackboard discussion posts and supervised an undergraduate teaching assistant.

Assisted psychology professors in grading undergraduate students’ exams and essays for multiple introductory psychology courses. Hosted weekly office hours and review sessions for undergraduate students to review class material, concepts, and essay drafts.
