When your career starts as an apprentice in the SANDF followed by studying an engineering degree and finally finding your passion for Project Management, it is bound to have adventure and experience.The training and experience gained during my 17-year career in the SANDF has prepared me and enabled me to fulfil a management role as well as a leadership role from strategic level down to execution level.Since leaving the military, I spent all the years working as a Project Manager, gaining experience in many aspects of management as well as managing technical aspects. Project planning, Project budgeting, Project scheduling, team management, task management and risk management are a few of the skills I gained over the years. Including monthly progress reporting on project status and performance. Budgeting, including Cost forecast, cash flow planning, sales forecast; as well as resource management.I have gained relevant experience in working with diverse groups of people. This includes electronic engineers, software developers, mechanical designers and ECAD designers, to name a few. I worked on development projects as well as technology projects, mostly in the tactical communications domain. These projects involved electronic design, mechanical design, software development which included embedded software as well as application software development.I bring valuable time management, self discipline and work ethics, which supported me through stressful periods in previous projects. Good communication skills, vocal and written. Written reports (monthly and quarterly reports), SOWs and other engineering related communication between end users and contractors. Project presentation: to end-users, quarterly reports and other report presentations. I like to be organized and structured. I am also very analytical, making me analyse everything. I have good interpersonal skills which allows me to get along with many different personalities.
