I earned my J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. This fall I am honored to be a Post-Bar Fellow serving the Montgomery County’s State’s Attorney’s Office in the Special Victims Division. During law school I was a member of the prosecution clinic. Through that I was able to serve as a student attorney under Rule-19 at the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office in the District Court Division. I was a member of the Human Rights Brief’s columns team where I drafted articles for consideration for publication about international criminal law. I hold a B.A. in History and Political Science with a minor in Law and Jurisprudence. At Niagara University I was a member of the Pre-Law Association (co-vice President); Sigma Alpha Sigma, the undergraduate honor society; Phi Delta Phi, the pre-law honor society (President); Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society. I was a student member of the Academic Integrity Board and a member of the President’s Society. I am an Eagle Scout

Student Attorney—Rule 19Auwcl Criminal Justice Clinic (Prosecution) Aug 2023 - Dec 2023Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States• Prosecuted misdemeanor cases for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office District Court Division under Rule 19.• Worked with line prosecutors in the District Court Division and Firearm Enforcement Unit.• Managed 10 traffic dockets (eight as first chair) and five criminal dockets (two as first chair); reviewed any evidence, officers’ body-worn camera, and ensured discovery was provided to defense counsel.• During the proceedings, I checked in witnesses and defendants, discussed the merits of the cases with charging officers, and noted where charges should be entered nolle prosequi due to lack of essential witnesses or in traffic court where the defendant has successfully remedied the issues. • Collaborated with charging officers, defense counsel, and supervisors in discussions of the merits of a case.• Conveyed plea offers to defense counsel, moved to place matters on the Stet Docket and other diversion programs.• Argued three bench trials as first-chair: a first-degree assault case (resulted in a not guilty verdict), a D.W.I. case (resulted in a guilty verdict), and a malicious destruction of property case (resulted in a guilty verdict). • Successfully argued against a motion to suppress for a Circuit Court gun case, prepared to go forward to a jury trial, represented the state after the matter was diverted to settlement conference, and negotiated settlement terms.
