Jacob is currently a PhD student and Research Assistant at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education. He uses mixed methods to study education policy and policy implementation in schools. Employing interviews, surveys, and GIS analyses, his current research focuses on the geospatial distribution of equity in school choice, district community engagement practices, and democratic deliberation in school board decision-making. Jacob founded Texas School Analytics Consulting (TSAC), an educational data and policy analytics consulting firm, with clients including nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and school districts. He was formerly the Executive Program Evaluator for San Antonio ISD (SAISD), working with departments and campuses across the District to improve and innovate using data driven models for analysis. He had previously been an Adjunct Professor in English, a Teach for America Mathematics teacher, and founding team leader at the Brackenridge High School International Studies Program. Jacob has also been a Leadership for Education Equity Policy Fellow, and has worked with policymakers, teachers, administrators, and program directors with the goal of fostering innovation, equity, and social justice in public schools.
