I started as the Academic Support Manager for The Last Mile, was promoted to the Senior Manager of Education, and then promoted again to the Director of Education for the org. I love my job, and I'm proud to be a part of TLM's mission to lead initiatives that foster personal and professional growth among justice-impacted individuals. With a background in software engineering, web development, and tutoring, I am passionate about our mission to provide targeted education and technology training to our students.We offer several custom curriculums in everything from web development & software engineering, audio & video production, & and intro to game programming to over 1,200 students across 23 classrooms in 8 states. I collaborate with correctional staff, remote instructors, curriculum developers, academic support staff, and teaching assistants to ensure our curriculum is aligned with the latest industry trends and best practices. I have also pioneered process improvements that have increased our departmental efficiency by 72 times. My ultimate goal is to do everything I can to empower our students to achieve their educational and professional goals, positively impact their communities, and have a successful fresh start upon returning home.
