After having the opportunity to intern with ActBlue's Democratic Politics & Elections Outreach team for the last 1.5 years, I was promoted to a full-time Outreach Associate supporting campaigns in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. My background in electoral and nonprofit organizing has prepared me to exceed entity expectations and grow ActBlue's presence in the region.

Led efforts in the Midwest and Mountains & Plains to connect democratic candidates and organizations to ActBlue through prospective research and targeted email campaigns. Served as an account manager for entities across various states where I troubleshooted technical issues, optimized feature use, and coordinated trainings. Aided in the development of digital fundraising strategies for clients while providing hands-on guidance for branding, best practices to reach donors, and effective fundraising mediums. Organized a self-led project where I compiled data on voting history from 2022 to 2014 for all 254 Texas counties and identified trends in voter sentiment to recommend specific outreach targets.

Coordinated media relations strategy for multiple clients across diverse industries, including Internet, cybersecurity, public utilities, and entertainment. Wrote press releases, story pitches, fact sheets, and blog posts with a diligent focus on crafting compelling storylines that incorporate each client’s individual voice and values. Monitored media coverage with online software and distributed semi-weekly reports client reports as well as internal news round-ups.

Elected by the undergraduate student body to serve as the Vice President of Government Affairs. Pioneered the development of a new Vice President role to focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Worked closely with University departments and leadership to elevate student civic engagement ahead of the November 2022 midterms. Left the position early due to an internship opportunity.

Supervised 15 Senators and two support staff, which required an innovative mindset to help develop the vision and goals of the NAU student body's representatives. Additional responsibilities included managing schedules, providing mediation, assigning projects, and tracking progress on initiatives. Served on the ASNAU executive council.

Served as a representative of the student body and worked to develop solutions to issues facing NAU students. In my three semesters as a Senator, I wrote and advocated for eight resolutions that elevated the need for greater equity and inclusivity across campus. Initiatives included fighting for a $15/hr campus wage, requesting the university be carbon neutral by 2030, and supporting LGBTQIA+ access to education.

Developed press releases, pitched stories, compiled fact sheets, built media lists, identified event and award opportunities, provided thought direction for visibility pieces, and monitored coverage through online listening tools amongst myriad additional tasks relating to earned media and client discovery. Gained relevant expertise and insight through working with clients across a variety of industries including broadband (Ziply Fiber), fintech (Qapital), banking (Gesa Credit Union), gaming (Washington State Lottery), construction (Skanska), and air travel (Delta Air Lines).

Built support among the Northern Arizona University community for bold investments in climate resilience and mitigation through forming a student action team that planned weekly events, gathered hundreds of petition signatures, photo petitions, postcards and phone calls, and collaborated with local organizations to expand the Climate Action Campaign network. Hosted and moderated a student-centered town hall with Congressman Tom O'Halleran (AZ-1) on climate change and environmental justice issues.

Built support for a 100% clean economy and grew EDF Action’s membership through daily community outreach in the form of phonebanking, textbanking, and weekly virtual/in-person events. Managed a summer fellowship program of four students from across Arizona, which included developing all curriculum and training to prepare them as entry-level organizers. Developed relations with local, state, and federal officials through constituent meetings and being visible in the Northern AZ community.

Planned events to encourage community outreach and involvement in the justice system, like the Justice 2040 Strategic Planning Conference. Weekly duties include scheduling meetings, creating agendas and briefs, filing paperwork, answering calls from clients and other administrative duties.

Lead a team of twenty employees virtually for daily phonebanking shifts where we reached out to women of color in Arizona to document their concerns about COVID-19 and provide them with voting information. I also organized scheduling and time-off requests, logging payroll and assisted with any administrative tasks.

I worked closely with the Flagstaff field organizer to recruit volunteers, plan and lead phonebanks and canvasses, and conduct digital outreach. Other duties included voter contact through weekly canvassing, daily phonebanks and formation of social media posts.

Trained in a 5 Day Virtual Bootcamp through Organizing Corps 2020, a DNC-sponsored effort in coordination with the Arizona Democratic Party, led by veteran campaign staff that trains first-time organizers on the skills needed to succeed as field organizers. Participated in workshops and simulations on the fundamentals of organizing: volunteer recruitment, voter contact, digital tools, data analytics, field strategy and VAN.

Worked directly with the county Democratic Party to learn about local and statewide politics, the basics of organizing, and event planning. Responsibilities included daily voter outreach, volunteer recruitment, and planning on-campus events for Northern Arizona University.
