My name is Jacob Cox. I am a full stack developer with 10 years of experience. Throughout my experience of developing I have worked on a lot of different things. Such as:- automating website builds for a blog farm (as unethical as it was)- writing front ends with vanilla js to nextjs and everything in between- writing end to end automation on web applications and even telephony systems- Written a system that allowed QA engineers to create their own test suites from a large list of of end to end tests and get real time reporting of the test results and reporting over time for test passes and failures- Writing dockerized microservices for push notifications, data aggregation to elastic search, pdf report emails, feature flagging, slack bots, user feedback surveys, and much more but you get the idea- I’ve done the grunt work of debugging monolithic php applications written 20 years ago with more intertwined logic than should be legally allowed- Headed up rearchitecting and rewriting legacy systems to be deployed in the cloud- Architected and helped a push for a central UI toolkit in an effort to increase code sharing and duplicate code- I’ve spent quite a bit of time being the sole writer of unit and end to end tests on teams that knew they wanted it, but never expelled the effort to actually do it and spent a lot of time writing in-house libraries to make it easier to no avail - I’ve even written code for a blockchain game UI and API, and understand the ins and outs of web3 development and the community in generalI’m very passionate about doing things correctly the first time instead of doing what is easy and dealing with the consequences later.I’m heavily invested in the scrum framework and have spent a lot of time understanding the why of scrum. I’ve noticed a lot of organizations will do the motions of scrum without really understanding the why, and, I think, you can see that in the code they produce. I also have hobbies.I live to travel and experience new things and places in the world. I own a very historically important mansion and a nonprofit to renovate it and turn it into a museum. I do a podcast with my wife and a couple of friends. I studied music and it is still a huge passion of mine.I’ve probably written enough at this point, but I’ll end by saying I am a passionate person that wants to do good in the world and collaborate. I’m very much not a “cog in the wheel” type of person, and I always aim for improvement for myself and to help those around me.
