Naval Veteran currently working at Nucor Steel Seattle as a maintenance electrician with various responsibilities. Qualified to work as a solo shift electrician while also being handed a growing list of responsibilities, including leading upgrade projects and leading major repair evolutions. Prior to Nucor, I worked for the past six years as an electrician on Naval Nuclear Reactor Plants aboard Ballistic Missile Submarines. Managed a division of 12 to maintain the ship’s steam, electric, and reactor plant components as well as troubleshoot damaged equipment throughout the ship. Planned and executed maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for two arduous refits and two deployments. Qualified to perform calibration work, as well as to operate and maintain oxygen and atmosphere control equipment. Earned four Navy and Marine Corps achievement medals in recognition of service as a member of the ship’s engineering department. Chosen as a team leader by multiple employers due to personal initiative, consistent quality performance, and the ability to perform under pressure.
