I owned and operated a small, private karate school where I focused on instilling values of strength in mind, body, and spirit to my students.

As part of the design team at CTA, I worked in numerous capacities including design development, construction documentation, digital modeling, and material research. Project types included high end residential, government, commercial, and institutional.

As Resident Director, my job was to handle logistics around the house. I managed rent and utilities from the residents, organized responsibilities, maintained the house and supplies, and kept communication with Chi Alpha leadership.

Primarily framing, some concrete and finish work

My tasks at Bayliss Architects have included construction documentation, structure detailing, material development and general design development. Skills I have improved upon include practical application and understanding of Revit 2012, increased knowledge of residential construction techniques, and product research.

As an architectural intern at 100 Fold Studio, my projects ranged from work on construction documents for various remodel projects on a small missionary training base (YWAM Lakeside) to developing a pre-fabricated orphanage projected to be built in El Salvador. I was able to gain experience in design programs like AutoCad and Revit, site analysis and documentation, code and material research, as well as hands-on construction experience.

Even before earning my black belt in 2004, I have taught and assisted classes at AKA with students ranging from 4-6 years old to older adults. On top of classes I have also offered private lessons off and on over the past several years. I have always strived to maintain and improve my martial arts skills while also searching for new and creative methods of communicating the arts to my students.
