Store ManagerFood World 2000 - Jan 2011Everyday we start with a Prayer,Briefings of current issues of the store,checking on staff strength,grooming,discuss individual matters,Store targets for the day ,Category targets,Planning,Feedback.Sending Reports of the previous day Sales & Cash ,Stocks Inventory etc.all banking matters ,corporate issues.Then after that starts the day with indenting all categories of stocks including Bakery,Liquor,Grocery,Health & Beauty,Processed foods,Fruit & Veg ,General Merchandise ,Paper & cleaning products etc. for the specified day like Top line,Bottom line or Regular.Filling in stocks on shelves,displays,promotions boards ,signs ,danglers,posters,,changes in Cash tills,Bank POS machine,back end office computers.Meet suppliers discuss any issues ,recieve stocks after 3 pm as store not in a rush mode.Arrange stocks ,display,Entire Store Cleaning & Hygiene, Maintain Statuatory laws & practises, in Food & Health .Authorities etc.Get ready for evening Sale there is a rush hour also in the morning but the evening is crowded as people get back from work.Staffing should be right to cover all areas of my store.Security ,house-keeping out-sourced used to the best of their ability.We also have part -timers coming to work in the evening during the rush hour so they have to be delegated & briefed.Stocks all full ,Staff all ready,Store clean & tidyinside & outside ,,Others all ready & stand by ,Cashiers briefed ,stationery stock up .Trolleys,Baskets ,Carry Bags ,Gifts,coupons ,POP's,Talkers ,all checked .Store manager on the floor like a Master of Cerominies looking into every department & conducting & getting their participation for a better sale.Everybody ,every department,every category, contributes to the target ,working like a machine.Every rupee counts,every customer counts,so unless there is a total contribution a Store manager cannot succed.After Sales ,store Inventory reports,stocks,cash ,all procedures followed.Sign off by the time I go home its Mid night. everyday
