Assist with orientations, monitor retention, assure that new hires are trained in production roles, certify warehouse associates on industrial equipment.

As an Operations Trainer, I am responsible for having knowledge and understanding of all operations of the inbound and outbound departments of the facility, as well as operating all equipment ranging from industrial trucks to computers and scanners. I also make an effort to maintain consistency and best practices between the shifts and departments. I need to know the safety protocols, rules and regulations, processes and procedures, as well as our warehouse contract. I conduct the orientations for our new hires, which includes leading the OSHA safety training courses, and taking new associates on tours of the facility. My job is to make sure that new hires get properly acclimated to our facility, as well as our rules, regulations, and safety protocol. I then train them on their job, and make observations and reports of their progress for up to 90 days. I must also have an understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as we use these programs to write reports, create spreadsheets, and access our company email. I make an effort to maintain our retention, as well as make observations and provide input regarding retention and sources that have an impact on it. As a trainer, I report to Senior Management and directly to the VP of Ops. I maintain communication with management, Human Resources, and the Safety Coordinator.

The Utility position is responsible for knowing and understanding all inbound and outbound functions and operations, as well as being certified on all industrial equipment at the facility, and trained on using our inventory system. I was also working closely with my manager on projects. I designed, measured, and laid out the line work and numbering system for new inventory locations, as well as the manual input of the inventory.
