I am a Senior International Development Manager in the Met Office’s International Engagement team. We work in partnership with the UK Government, the global meteorological community, national governments and development agencies, to promote sustainable development through delivery of improved worldwide weather and climate services. I am responsible for managing the successful delivery of complex international projects and programmes in developing countries across Africa, MENA and Asia Pacific, which include a mix of capacity development, training, scientific consultancy and technical assistance and partnerships.I also identify opportunities to develop sustainable and profitable revenue streams, including the management and preparation of project bids and proposals and work in partnership with regional leads to build a strong pipeline of future revenue in key areas.Prior experience:- Senior Stakeholder Relationship Manager at the Met Office with responsibility for parliamentary engagement, facilitating visits and events and developing briefing materials- Five years working as a Senior Press Officer and Press Officer at the Ministry of Justice with management responsibilities- Sub Editor and copywriter at the Sunday Independent newspaper in Cornwall- Year-long work placement as a Media Officer at Leicester City Football Club - Intern at Sporting Edge as a Journalist AssociateQualifications:English Language and Journalism graduate from De Montfort University (2:1)Level 6 Diploma in Strategic Communications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Distinction)Three A-Levels and twelve GCSEsInterests & hobbies: International development, current affairs and sportKeen runner and have competed in races from 5K up to marathon Proud Dad of two young children
