My goal as an activist educator is to give students the tools to read the word and the world. My educational approach is rooted in problem-posing education; questions can be more powerful than answers. My intention is to show students a different side of education that places their experiences at the forefront of the learning process. My personal teaching philosophy is founded in critical pedagogy. This means that students will examine how the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexuality influence their daily lives. Reflection and realignment is a key aspect of my teaching praxis.
