Profile bio

About Jacob Weeks

I have lived in Dayton, Ohio, the birth place of aviation, almost my whole life; planes and space were always topics that filled my mind as a kid and I would continuously seek to learn more and more about how we reached the sky above. Luckily, being in Dayton, Ohio, there was no shortage of things to learn about aerospace and its history. My fondest memories are those of which I spent with my Dad, who was a mechanic for F-15Es while in the Airforce, at the National Museum of the United States Airforce. It was here where I got to learn so much about how aviation had changed through the years, while also questioning my Dad about his own experiences and knowledge about different aircraft. In high school I still wished to pursue this passion, which led me to my favorite class in high school, Aerospace Engineering. This class showed me that this was what I wanted to do, and something that I could spend my whole life doing.Pursuing my goal, I ended up applying, and being accepted, to the University of Cincinnati's Aerospace engineering program where I can learn more about the field and get the abilities and tools I need to help contribute to the field I hold so highly. So far, the classes I have taken have only enhanced my interest and passion for the subject, especially those revolving around both fluid and aerodynamics. So far in my career I have had to opportunity to work in multiple engineering positions spanning two different companies, and both have been crucial to my development as an engineer. Advanced Atomization Technologies was my first co-op and was truly a great introduction to the engineering line of work and the product development side of the aerospace industry with myself being able to work on multiple manufacturing centric projects that reduced product fallout, improved testing procedures, and allowed for myself to work on inspection documents that led to the pushing forward of key revisions. I returned to Advanced Atomization for my second co-op, but held a position within the R&D department which allowed for myself to improve my CAD skills, product change assessment, and to work alongside other engineering companies to learn about ways we could improve some components.Present day, I am working alongside UC Professor Dr. Disimile, at Engineering Scientific Innovations, where I have spent the Summer of 2024 and plan to continue assisting multiple contracts and projects within the company. Much of my work has been with involvement on wind tunnel testing, data acquisition, test setup, and experimental validation in terms of CFD.
