I have a passion for identifying social issues, particularly those related to housing and community development, and developing comprehensive and equitable solutions. I strongly support giving credence to community members in the identification of these issues and in the formulation of solutions. Upward mobility is dependent upon having a strong support system, which is fostered through vibrant and diverse communities.I am a masters candidate at Wayne State University, studying urban planning with a focus in housing and community development. I am proficient in using quantitative analysis to study socioeconomic conditions using community profile data i.e. census, bls, qcew, etc. I also have extensive experience using qualitative methods, such as interviews and surveys, to answer questions related to social problems. I possess a strong background in literature review and textual analysis, which has served me well when mapping the institutional relations that influence policy decisions.I hope to use these skills I've developed to influence planning and policy decisions in a way that is equitable and inclusive of all demographics.
