The Mergers and Acquisitions Section of the Federal Reserve Board of Governor's Division of Supervision and Regulation is tasked with ensuring financial institution M&A activity is compliant with the provisions of the Bank Holding Company Act, Change in Bank Control Act, Bank Merger Act, Federal Reserve Act, Home Owners Loan Act and related statutes.● Assisted in the review process for financial institution M&A activity. ● Researched and identified M&A performance trends with data obtained through the Federal Reserve Banks and made recommendations for further analysis.● Completed a project to utilize technology to modernize applications filings process.● Analyzed data and identified methods to streamline reporting processes.

The Private Funds Unit of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations is tasked with the overseeing the Private Equity and Hedge Fund industries in the U.S. The PFU conducts examinations of registered investment advisers, determines broader risk-areas in the industry, and works closely with policy-makers to shape future regulation with the goal of protecting investors and enhancing capital formation. As an Honors Business Intern within the Private Funds Unit, my responsibilities included: ● Researching investment advisers and all aspects of their funds, then generating a report of my findings.● Participating in on-site examinations of investment advisers at various offices in Boston. ● Analyzing investment adviser data and files turned over to the SEC as part of the examination process and submitting written reports of my findings. Overall, working with the SEC was a wonderful and enlightening experience. I had the opportunity to work alongside smart and talented teams from the Boston office as well as the San Francisco and New York City offices on private equity and hedge fund examinations with members of the Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. offices joining certain exams.

Centered between MIT and Harvard University, Zinkerz was, without a doubt, one of the best work environments I have experienced so far in terms of team members, purpose, and freedom to create. This online education start-up works mainly with students in developing countries, though, tutoring services are offered globally. During my time at Zinkerz, I worked with a dedicated team whose quality of work and start-up attitude encouraged me to polish previously learned skills, learn new ones, and take problems in stride. A few examples of what I did at Zinkerz:● Queried databases with SQL. ● Applied principles of descriptive statistics and statistical modeling to student data with programs such as STATA and Microsoft Excel then reported the results. ● Researched and reported on market structure, student outcomes, and standardized tests. ● Conducted competitor analysis and reported the findings. ● Reviewed applicants and recommended new hires. ● Gathered data and created worksheets allowing YOY analysis of our companies performance.Much of the work I did as a member of the Zinkerz team was self-motivated. I would either be presented with a problem that needed solving by a team member and given freedom to solve it, or I would identify problems on my own and create a solution.

I moved across the country to complete my undergraduate degree.

Managed a high volume restaurant and team during night-time operations, serving 600 or more customers nightly. Great introduction to people and operations management along with deescalation tactics during customer brawls in our 24 hour dining room and robberies.

Advanced from busser, to cook, to drive-through attendant, finally line cook. Great introduction to business. I also learned how to make fried chicken, hash browns, and Spanish rice.
