Graduate of Flatiron School's immersive Software Engineering program where I utilized previously acquired skills of problem-solving, attention to detail, and genuine curiosity to understand the machinations of systems. I spent the last seven years simultaneously working in the hospitality industry and as a "freelance creative". I wanted to make a change which would also compliment the creative work I am passionate about. My time in the service industry included roasting, making and serving coffee, leading a shift of employees at a brew-pub in a popular part of town. As a part of the opening team of the brew-pub, I had the opportunity to help cultivate a company culture centered around community and providing great service. Additionally, I’ve spent the last decade taking photos at concerts and working on various other creative projects centered around music. A desire to work in a field which would compliment this sort of work has only grown over the years. Pursuing a career in software engineering was not the path I expected but one I’m happy to have found. My mind is pragmatic, systematic, and dynamic by default, as is programming. Learning skills which compliment and strengthen preexisting ones feels exciting and invaluable.
