Working through and engineering team on core shared Office code to better organize, refactor, and understand dependencies between low level components common across the application suite. This work has the effect of increasing testability and lowering developer time to release by decreasing the amount of code any developer works with at a given time, allowing them to focus on their ideas and not the engineering systems in use.

Working through and engineering team on core shared Office code to better organize, refactor, and understand dependencies between low level components common across the application suite. This work has the effect of increasing testability and lowering developer time to release by decreasing the amount of code any developer works with at a given time, allowing them to focus on their ideas and not the engineering systems in use.

Analysis of performance and reliability of the Office suite across multiple axis including power consumption and instance scalability. Made heavy use of tools like ETW to better understand Office performance characteristics and collect telemetry in a performant manner.

Worked on the shared Office core team dedicated to file i/o and network access. Worked specifically around implementing features related to document format interoperability and authentication while also working on improved telemetry systems.

Sustained engineering on legacy products, patch building, Microsoft patching technologies including MSI and WiX, in-house tool development in Perl, C#, and VisualBasic.
