While in this position, I was responsible for replenishing shelves, housekeeping duties in the department, and assisting patrons with excellent customer service. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing and assisting 4-7 associates while loading trailers with freight. I was expected to maintain the efficient flow of freight, ensuring that trailer moves were generated on time as well as assigning personnel to trailers. Additionally, I was responsible for upholding quality and safety standards for my area. This included ensuring that loaders were using the bricklayer method when stacking freight as well as following Department of Transportation standards for loading items containing hazardous material. Finally, I coordinated with the shipping dock to ensure that the proper freight was being sent.

During my time with the Air Force, I was tasked with inspection of fuel equipment to include: trucks, fillstands, storage tanks, pumphouse, recovery tank, and containment basins. When a discrepancy was found, I was responsible for notifying the proper individuals or correcting the issues by following the appropriate procedures for operational maintenance. I was also tasked with providing annual environmental training for 20 airmen. Additionally, I was the hazardous material program manager, which included inspections of the hazardous waste accumulation points in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. I often was called to assist with quality testing in the laboratory or to prepare paperwork for daily accounting.
